Ralf & Rosina NEUMEYER

On Ralf’s 12th birthday his parents made one of his biggest dream come true: buying him the first pair Blue-fronted Amazons.
In the coming years, information and tips from experienced breeders, conversations and regular visits in breeding facilities of other bird enthusiasts, but also references as aviculture magazines and books strongly influenced the planning and design of the own aviaries.
Ralf finished the construction work of his first big aviary complex when he was just 16 years old.
His wife Rosina has grown up in Eggelsberg in a small farm. She shares the fascination and enthusiasm for the parrots of her husband.
The farm was acquired back in 2002 to establish a modern facility for parrots.

The Breeding Farm

Since the completion of the first aviary complex many more aviary complexes followed
Currently, about 200 aviaries are in use, of which the major part consists of a inside and outside enclosure. The inside section is heated
All birds receive two feedings per day. The selection of food components contains a bright variety of fruits and vegetables, extruded pellets, various seed mixtures and nuts to fit all the specific requirements of the different captively managed parrot species. To make the food preparation more efficient, an electric vegetable/fruit cutter is used to cut the big amount of fruits/vegetables required every day.
A camera system allows us to observe the birds without any additional disturbance.
The environment of the outside enclosures is composed of bushes, trees, green vegetation and an individual arrangement of perches that is greatly accepted by our birds. In addition, an artificial raining system is implemented in all aviaries, which can be used on a daily basis.
